Lehighton state police report incidents

State police at Lehighton reported on the following arrests and incident investigated by troopers:

• Two Lehighton residents are being charged following a vehicle stop that occurred on May 26 at 9:24 p.m. at Bankway and East Bridge Street, in Lehighton.

Police said during the stop and subsequent investigation narcotics, drug paraphernalia and a large amount of cash was found in the vehicle. Both the driver and passenger, two men, ages 27 and 19, were taken into custody and will be charged. Troopers declined to identify the suspects.

• On June 9 at 5:46 p.m. troopers were dispatched to Meixsell Valley Road in Eldred Township, Monroe County, for a report of a single vehicle crash. Troopers said the 63-year-old Brodheadsville man, who they declined to identify, was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving under the influence.

• A 25-year-old man from Smith Lane Road, Lehighton, East Penn Township, reported on June 5 about 10 a.m. that his electric dog fence had been damaged. An investigation revealed that a farmer accidentally mowed over the wire since it was not buried.

• On June 9 at 12:37 p.m. a Kunkletown resident reported a 65-year-old man, also from Kunkletown, has been trespassing on his property along Singing Tree Lane, in Eldred Township, and attempting to talk to him and his children, repeatedly refusing the victim’s request to stay off his driveway/porch. The suspect, who troopers declined to identify, was charged with criminal trespass, troopers said.
