Lehighton state police report incidents

State police at Lehighton investigated the following incidents:

• A traffic stop was made at 2:26 a.m. Sept. 24 on a 2013 Chrysler Town and Country along Fireline Road in Lower Towamensing Township. Police saw alcohol in the car.

Charges against the driver are pending the result of laboratory testing.

• Police investigated a two-vehicle crash at 5:45 p.m. on Sept. 15 at the intersection of Long Run Road and Fairyland Road in Franklin Township, Carbon County.

Troopers said the crash occurred where Long Run Road makes a “T” intersection with Fairyland Road on to Canal Road. The drivers involved were identified as Kiara L. Smith, 19, of Weissport, driving a 2007 Dodge Caliber, and Anthony W. Bear, 26, of Lehighton, driving a 2002 Acura. No one was injured.

Troopers cited Smith for the crash.

• A Northampton County man is facing charges following an incident at 9:23 p.m. Sept. 21.

State police at Lehighton said troopers responded to the intersection of Koch and Creekview roads in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, to a report of a man and woman arguing in the roadway. The man, Matthew Lukanowski, 37, of Wind Gap, gave troopers with the name and date of birth of his brother to hide a warrant for his arrest.

He has been charged with false identification to law enforcement.
