Lehighton state police investigate thefts

State police at Lehighton are investigating the following thefts:

• A 41-year-old woman reported she laid down her iPhone while in the Dollar General Store, located off Route 209, in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County, on May 28 and could not find it when she looked for it. The phone is valued at $800.

• A resident from Penn Forest Road in Towamensing Township, Carbon County, reported his property was entered and a 2007 Car Mate motorcycle trailer was taken. The trailer is white and silver and bears state registration XJE3241. The theft occurred sometime between 8 p.m. June 19 at 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. June 21.

• A resident from Autumn Lane, Penn Forest Township, Jim Thorpe, reported his vehicle was entered and vyvanse medication was removed. The incident was reported on June 21.

• A 29-year-old Slatington man, reported at 4 p.m. June 19 that someone threw a rock through the driver’s side rear window on his 2007 Acura MDA while he was traveling along Riverview Road in East Penn Township, Carbon County.

• At 7 a.m. on June 23 troopers received a complaint of mailboxes that had been knocked over along Church Road in Eldred Township, Monroe County. Troopers said multiple mailboxes were knocked over in the area. The incident occurred sometime between 6 p.m. June 22 at 6 p.m. and June 23 when reported.

• State police at Lehighton are investigating the reported theft by deception/illegal use of a credit card incident.

Troopers said on June 14 about 1:48 p.m. a couple from Lehighton came to the barracks to report that there was multiple unauthorized items bought from Walmart using their credit card online. The purchases were made during the time frame of June 12 until the report was made.

Troopers said the investigation is continuing. Anyone with information concerning any of these incidents is asked to call troopers at 610-681-1850.
