State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers in recent days:

• A hit-and-run crash was reported at 6:20 p.m. on Oct. 17 along Route 209 (Interchange Road), in Polk Township, Monroe County.

Troopers said vehicles operated by Francis Culbert, 77, of Frankford, Delaware, and a vehicle in front of him were stopped in the northbound lane due to a traffic back log. The driver in front of Culbert attempted to make a U-turn in the center of both north and southbound lanes.

Terry A. Borsky, 26, of Kunkletown, was northbound and unable to stop and rear-end the vehicle attempting to turn around.

After impact Borsky steered into the southbound lane with his Ford Taurus sideswiping Culbert’s 2014 Chrysler Town & Country. The driver who was making the U-turn fled the scene.

No injuries were reported.

• A crash was reported at 6:36 p.m. Oct. 17 along Route 903 in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Maureen I. Germine, 71, of Jim Thorpe, was driving a 2014 Kia Sportage southbound when a deer entered the road in front of her. Germine’s Sportage struck the deer. After impact Germine pulled to the side of the road.

Germine was not injured but the Kia was towed from the scene. She was cited for operating a vehicle without official certificate of inspection.

• A two-vehicle crash was reported at 5:45 p.m. Oct. 18 about 5:49 p.m. along Route 248, east of the Palmerton exit, in Lower Towamensing Township, Carbon County. Troopers said Jarrett A. Ahner, 47, of Lehighton, driving a 2002 Ford Expedition, approached a closed lane due to construction, and entered into the path of a 2009 Subaru Outback driven by Courtney S. Clements, 33, of Jim Thorpe. The Ford struck the Subaru.

Ahner left the scene but was later identified and cited for multiple traffic violations, troopers said. No one was injured and damages were minor to both vehicles.
