Lehighton State Police announce charges

State police at Lehighton reported on the following arrests made by troopers.

• On Dec. 30, 2019, at 7:37 p.m. troopers responded to the area of 1204 Blakeslee Boulevard Drive East, Lowe’s Home Improvement Center, Mahoning Township, Carbon County, parking lot to a report of a man who was in and out of consciousness and was laying on the lot. Troopers said the incident was discovered to be a drug overdose.

As a result troopers said Ryan Beers, 37, of Jim Thorpe, was cited for public drunkenness. Troopers were assisted at the scene by Lehighton ambulance personnel.

• On Dec. 16, 2019, at 1:08 p.m. a 62-year-old woman from Route 903, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, reported the theft of a Honda Accord. As a result of an investigation Leon Sutton, 31, of Albrightsville, is facing a charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.

• On Jan. 1 at 5:56 p.m. troopers made a traffic stop along Route 33 in Hamilton Township, Monroe County. The driver, Alexander Gerhard, 18, of Broomall, Delaware County, was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges were filed.

• Also on Jan. 1, at 3:15 a.m. troopers responded to David Road in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County. Troopers said a 42-year-old man from Lehighton and a 42-year-old woman from Effort, who troopers declined to identity, were both cited for simple assault and harassment as the result of an altercation.

• On Jan. 3, at 9:57 p.m., troopers responded to White Street, Bowmanstown, Carbon County, for an argument that had turned physical.

As a result a 26-year-old man from Bowmanstown and a 22-year-old man from Bethlehem, who troopers declined to identity, were both cited for harassment — physical contact.
