Breakfast

Members of the 1967 class of Jim Thorpe High School will meet for breakfast at 10 a.m. Monday at the Boulevard Restaurant in Lehighton.

Luncheon

The class of 1964 of Jim Thorpe High School will enjoy its monthly luncheon at noon on Wednesday at the Union Publick House, 221 Center St., Jim Thorpe. This will be “art” day. Please note the change of day. It was originally scheduled for Feb. 23.

Soup and Scripture

St. John’s Lutheran Church, in the Heights, and St. John’s Lutheran Church, North Street, will again share in the Lenten exchange for Soup and Scripture. It will be held the four Wednesdays of Lent.

Pastor Tony Pagotto and Pastor Peter Muhr will be presenting some of the dozen Social Statements of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in American during the weekly gatherings. The first will be held at the Heights church on Wednesday. The topic will be “Women and Justice.” On Feb. 28, it will be at the East Side church, with the message “Health Care.” On March 7, in the Heights, the message will be “Genetics and Bioethics,” and on March 14, on the East Side, the topic will be “Economics.”

All will sessions will begin at 6 p.m. All are welcome to attend. If you have any questions, please contact the church offices.

Community dinner

Feb. 25 is the next scheduled free community dinner at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. A meal of spaghetti and meatballs will be served from 4 to 6 p.m. For more information, call 570-325-2241.
