Classes to celebrate

Members of the 1964 graduating class of Jim Thorpe High School are currently making plans for their May gathering. For this event, they would like to include any member and spouse of the following classes to join them: 1962, 1963, 1965 and 1966. The group will meet for lunch at 11 a.m. May 18 at Dean Anthony’s on North Street. It will be a “Special Olympics” recognition luncheon.

The luncheon will kick off the Carbon County Special Olympics track and field events that will be held at the Jim Thorpe Area High School football field on May 19. The class of 1964 has already made a generous donation to the Carbon County Special Olympics.

Reservations and tickets are available at $25 per person by contacting Sharon Deats Kobal until May 1. Checks should be made out to the Jim Thorpe Class of 1964 and addressed to Kobal, 777 Upper Nis Hollow Drive, Lehighton, PA 19235 This event will also kick off the 23rd year of the celebration of Jim Thorpe’s birthday.

April luncheon

The 1964 class of Jim Thorpe High School will meet at noon April 18 at the Mahoning Valley Country Club. On the agenda for this month, will be a late egg hunt. Also members are reminded to bring back their packet of questions given out during the March meeting.
