Legion dues

Members of the American Legion are reminded that their 2019 dues are now payable. Remittance may be mailed to the post home at 20 W. Sixth St., Jim Thorpe, PA 18229; attention Bill Diehm, membership chairman.

Democratic meeting

The Jim Thorpe Democratic Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at 319 Center St. All upcoming Democratic candidates are invited to attend. All members are encouraged to participate in the discussion. Edith Lukasevich, president, will preside.

Class of 1964

Members of the Jim Thorpe High School Class of 1964 will meet for lunch at noon Wednesday at Dom N Ali’s Restaurant, Route 903. The 55-year class reunion is being planned for Sept. 28 at Dean Anthony’s. Members are reminded to send in their information and reservations to Ed Solomon, so that counts may be taken.

Polar Plunge

The sixth annual “Be Cool for Our School” Polar Plunge to benefit Marian Catholic High School will be held on Jan. 26, at Mauch Chunk Lake. For more information about the event, contact Kathy Goff at 610-704-8037. There is a registration form. If you wish not to take the “plunge,” you may also register, but stay dry. Plungers must be 18 or older.
