Class gatherings

Members of the 1971 graduating class of Jim Thorpe Area High School will meet for brunch at the Route 443 Restaurant at 11 a.m. Friday.

The 1964 class of Jim Thorpe Area High School will meet at Penn’s Peak at noon on April 17.

Further information about the 55th reunion will be given by Ed Solomon, chairman.

Maundy Thursday supper

St. John’s Lutheran Church South Avenue, will be holding a Maundy Thursday supper following the worship service on April 18. The worship service will begin at 5 p.m. The topic of discussion will be the replica of the Shroud of Turin.

Reservations are a must for the dinner and must be made by Palm Sunday, April 14. A sign-up sheet is in the back of the church, or you may call the church office to make your reservations.

The full-size Shroud replica, which is the linen the Lord was wrapped in following the crucifixion, will be on display at the church for public viewing at 3 p.m. Bill Wingard, Baltimore, will be the presenter.
