State police at Hazleton reported investigating a one-vehicle crash about 8:38 a.m. Monday along Route 940 in Foster Township, Luzerne County.

Troopers said Angel J. Velez, 32, of Hazleton, was driving a 2010 Ford F350 pickup eastbound and negotiating a curve when he lost control of the vehicle on a slippery road surface. The vehicle crossed the centerline and continued into the westbound lane, then off onto the north berm where it struck a tree with the front right side. The truck then spun about 180 degrees, struck another tree with its rear end and came to final rest facing south.

Front seat passenger Rebecca Kondash, 18, of Beaver Meadows, and rear two juvenile passengers, an 8-year-old girl and an 11-year-old boy, both of Hazleton, were taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital – Hazleton, for treatment of injuries.
