Pocono Mountain Regional police reported investigating what they are calling an attempted home invasion incident that was reported around 11 p.m. on Saturday.

Police said officers responded to the 8000 block of Deerfield Drive in Tobyhanna for a report of an attempted break-in. On scene the victim told officers he was watching television when someone knocked on his door around 11 p.m. He did not answer the door. However, several minutes later the door was kicked in. The suspects then observed the victim in the home and fled the area.

Home surveillance video showed four individuals wearing masks, carrying burglary tools and armed with a shotgun, case the house and then kick the door in. The men immediately fled the home.

Police asked residents to be attentive, lock doors and call police concerning any suspicious behavior.
