Heavy rainfall expected tonight

The National Weather Service says downpours at times this afternoon and tonight could be heavy enough to result in localized flooding.

Here’s the local forecast:

Monday: A chance of showers, with thunderstorms also possible after noon. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Cloudy, with a high near 71. East wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Monday Night: Showers and possibly a thunderstorm, mainly before 4 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 a.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. Low around 57. Southeast wind 6 to 8 mph becoming south after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch possible.

Tuesday: A chance of showers before 8 a.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 74. Northwest wind around 17 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 49. Northwest wind 6 to 11 mph becoming light after midnight.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 75.

Wednesday Night: Showers likely, mainly after 2 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 55. Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Thursday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. Chance of precipitation is 70%.
