Kyle Bradley of Jim Thorpe, a graduate student in the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Misericordia University, Dallas, recently presented his capstone research projects at the fourth annual Student Research Symposium: Current Research in Physical Therapy in Insalaco Hall.

The 61 students participating either received their doctorate degrees at the seventh annual Misericordia University Winter Commencement Ceremony in December or will have them awarded during the 92nd annual spring commencement ceremony in May. The student researchers presented their work before an audience of clinical instructors on subjects that focused on musculoskeletal and neuromuscular disorders.

The two-day symposium provided participants with specific learning objectives on 15-student research groups that addressed topics such as the effect of posture on hip abduction strength, kinesiology taping in treatment of women with post-mastectomy lymphedema, effects of exercise on treating depressive symptoms in geriatrics and more.

It also included discussions on the subject matter.

Each participant earned continuing education credits for completing the symposium.
