Franklin Township supervisors took the following action on Tuesday:

• Adopted an ordinance allowing emergency access on rights of way located within the township.

• Approved and signed the Treatment Release Authorization form regarding the spotted lanternfly.

• Adopted the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Winter Maintenance Agreement for a five-year term from 2019-24.

• Adopted a resolution signature authorization for signing of the PennDOT Winter Maintenance Agreement.

• Agreed to reinvest a maturing CD (Farmers & Merchants Union Bank, Wisconsin), which matures on July 22.

• Reminded township residents to not place any kind of plastic bags in the recycling dumpsters, and that the recycling bins are to be used by township residents only.

• Announced that the Lehighton Band will hold a free summer concert at the Phifer’s Ice Dam Park on Aug. 15.
