Fern Ridge state police report arrests

State police at Fern Ridge reported on the following arrests made by troopers.

• On Oct. 29 at 12:18 p.m., troopers responded to a residence along Long Woods Drive in Chestnuthill Township for a report of criminal mischief. Officers determined a saw, camouflage shirt and about $10 in coins were taken from a vehicle at the residence.

Cheryl Brink, 54, of Effort, was charged with theft. The victim is listed as a 56-year-old man from Saylorsburg.

• On Oct. 28 at 8:58 p.m., a trooper on patrol in the area of the intersection of routes 903 and 115, observed a black Ford truck parked in the lot of the old Pocono Lodge, in Tunkhannock Township, Monroe County. The trooper saw the man spray painting an orange pumpkin on a wall of the lodge. When the man saw the cruiser, he ran to the truck, operated by another man. The trooper stopped the truck and identified the man as Austin Babbitt, 21, of Astoria, New York. A can of orange paint was found in the truck. He admitted spray painting the wall. He was charged with criminal mischief. His brother, from Blakeslee, was driving the truck.

• A traffic stop along a Monroe County road has led to drug charges filed against the driver.

State police at Fern Ridge said a vehicle was stopped at 7:57 p.m. on Oct. 17 along Route 209 at Route 715 in Chestnuthill Township.

The driver was identified as Sean Duffy, 25, of Bushkill. Troopers detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Duffy admitted to having marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. A grinder, multicolored glass pipe and a small plastic container, all containing suspected marijuana were found in the vehicle.

Duffy was charged with drug related counts.
