October 9, 2009 — Corey Cinicola completes 13-of-21 passes for 222 yards and a touchdown to help Jim Thorpe hold off Minersville for a 28-20 victory. Cinicola also carries the ball 14 times for 118 yards and two scores. The Olympians, coached by Mark Rosenberger, jump ahead in the opening frame on a 4-yard touchdown run by Shane Edwards. After the Miners take the lead, Cinicola connects with P.J. Johnson on a 61-yard scoring toss. Cinicola gives his team the lead for good with a 74-yard TD run and later adds a 1-yard plunge into the end zone. The winners seal the victory when Carl St. Hill intercepts a pass with 11 seconds left.
