Christ Evangelical hosts Easter musical

On April 14, the choir of Christ Evangelical Free Church of Lehighton hosted an Easter celebration musical, “One Day,” arranged by Russell Mauldin.

The program included songs performed by the 25-member choir, as well as dramatic narrations, lyrical dancing and ribbon dancing. There were also two testimonies given of God’s grace, and how God has provided during difficult life trials.

Pastor Greg Laible finished up the evening with a short message about the hope of Easter and how to have life in Christ.

The program was directed by Carol Taylor of Summit Hill.

The choir is made up of all ages, from eighth grade to senior citizens.

Taylor said, “It was a joy to direct so wide a range of singers. They have worked hard, and even though sickness was plaguing many, God helped us get through it for his glory. I especially was pleased to be able to include dance and drama into the program.”

The choir performed a scaled-down version of the musical on May 4 for the residents of the Mahoning Valley Nursing Home in Lehighton.
