Carbon tax collectors attend training seminar

Carbon County was well-represented with nine of the 23 Carbon County tax collectors in attendance at the recent Training for Tax Collectors seminar held May 16 at Northampton Community College Monroe Campus approved by the Pennsylvania State Tax Collectors Association and presented by the Monroe County Tax Collectors Association.

Various speakers provided information on topics related to tax collectors in performing their duties as elected officials, and PSTCA President Sherry Labs gave an update on legislation in process in Harrisburg. The day concluded with a presentation by state Sen. Mario Scavello, 40th District.

Attendees from Carbon County included Kim Ginopolas, Kidder Township (Weatherly and Jim Thorpe school districts); Teresa M. Barna, Lehigh Township (Weatherly School District); Deborah A.
