The following actions were filed by credit card companies, or their collection agencies, for alleged defaults on credit card/loan accounts.

LVNV Funding, Greenville, South Carolina, filed the following actions: Larissa Murray, 101 E. Ludlow St., Summit Hill, seeking $1,522.29; Donna Serfass, 35 Judy Lane, Palmerton, seeking $3,043.04; Lynda Buchfeller, 346 Edgemont Ave., Palmerton, seeking $6,527.44; and Scott Morgan, 4300 Little Gap Road, Palmerton, seeking $1,397.28.

Bank of America, Newark, Delaware, filed an action against Nicholas M. Demaio, 61 Susquehanna St., Jim Thorpe, seeking $18,938.25.

Pennsylvania State Employees Credit Union, Harrisburg, filed an action against Eric James Brill, 253 Packer Drive, Weatherly, seeking $22,131.51.

Cavalry SPV I, Valhalla, New Jersey, filed the following actions: Jennifer Frankenfield, 132 S. Fifth St., Lehighton, seeking $6,563.77; Stephanie Sell, 2960 Summer Mountain Road, Palmerton, seeking $3,996.27; and Karen Christman, 901 Princeton Ave., Palmerton, seeking $1,232.62.

Discover Bank, New Albany, Ohio, filed an action against Randall L. Gombert, 133 Penn St., Lehighton, seeking $11,515.98.

Auto loan default

Ally Bank, Box 130424, Roseville, Minnesota, filed a civil action against Kevin Baker, 286-119 Lower Nis Hollow Drive, Lehighton, alleging he defaulted on an automobile loan. Sought is repossession of a 2017 Jeep Patriot; or, the owed amount of $22,667.70 plus interest, costs and fees.

Mortgage foreclosures

The following actions were filed as mortgage foreclosures for alleged defaults on loans.

New Residential Mortgage, c/o 55 Beattie Place, Greenville, South Carolina, filed an action against Kenneth Garman, 773 Mahoning Mountain Rd., Lehighton, over property at 346 Yeakel St., Weatherly. Sought is $48,691.51 and continuing interest.

Shellpoint Mortgage Servicing, c/o Box 10826, Greenville, South Carolina, filed an action against Robert Morris and Samantha Ellen Bloomfield, et al, 714 Church St., Palmerton, over property at that address. Sought is $79,158.31 and continuing interest.

CitiMortgage Inc., c/o 1000 Technology Drive, O’Fallon, Missouri, filed an action against Henry K. Lui, 138 Old Stage Road, Albrightsville, over property at that address. Sought is $190,789.58 and continuing interest.

Slip, fall suit

Joseph Davis, 101 Andover Court, Quakertown, filed a civil suit seeking damages for injuries sustained in a slip and fall incident. Defendants named in the suit are the Borough of Jim Thorpe, 101 E. 10th St.; Daise Valdez, 310 Oak St., Jim Thorpe; Brett Strothers, 3 Barret Drive, Egg Harbor, New Jersey; Aaron Gardner, 1566 Somer Point Road, Egg Harbor; and Bear Appetit, 29 Broadway, Jim Thorpe.

The suit states on July 14, 2018, Davis was walking on the sidewalk at 29 Broadway when he was caused to slip and fall due dangerous and condition of the premises sustaining “serious and permanent” injuries. Negligence is alleged against the defendants for the injuries sustained by the plaintiff which are detailed in the suit.

Damages in excess of $50,000 is sought against each defendant. A jury trial is demanded.
