Carbon County court

Several defendants were sentenced by Judge Steven R. Serfass in Carbon County court on Thursday morning.

Dante Lewis Matos

, 32, of Jim Thorpe, was sentenced to 3-24 months for possession of a controlled substance. He was given credit for 49 days time served. He was arrested Sept. 16 and 24, 2015, by Jim Thorpe Police Department. Matos was also ordered to serve 100 hours community service.

Samantha Tagliaterra

, 25, of Whitehall, was sentenced to 2-24 months in jail for criminal use of a communication facility, a felony. She will serve her sentence on consecutive weekends. She as arrested Aug. 28, 2018, by the Office of Attorney General. Tagliaterra was also ordered to serve 100 hours community service.

James Luckenbaugh

, 34, of Lehighton, was sentenced to the state’s intermediate punishment program on charges of attempted theft and trespassing. Luckenbaugh was arrested by Lehighton Police for incidents on Jan. 4 and April 25.

Jerry Olivencia

, 28, of Lansford, was sentenced to 1-12 months in jail for a charge of simple assault, to be served on consecutive weekends. He was arrested April 17, 2017, by Summit Hill Police. He was also ordered to serve 100 hours community service.
