Carbon County court

A Lehigh County man admitted passing phony bills as Carbon County business on Monday in the county court.

In another case, a Carbon resident admitted to an assault charge stemming from a property dispute.

Walmart incident

Timmy Priest

, 33, of Allentown, entered guilty pleas to one count each of criminal conspiracy — forgery, and criminal conspiracy — retail theft.

He was arrested on July 10, 2017, at the Walmart store by Mahoning Township police for passing counterfeit $20 bills at the store to make purchases.

Priest is currently an inmate at the state correctional institution at Graterford serving a 21-month to five-year term imposed in Lehigh County. He is also awaiting sentencing in Northampton County.

Matika deferred sentencing and ordered the adult probation office to prepare a presentence investigation report.

Property dispute

Lee Franklin Walck

, 48, of Summit Hill, pleaded to one count of simple assault — by physical menace. He was charged by Nesquehoning police with an incident on June 25, 2017, at a residence along East Railroad Street. He assaulted a person who was renting property from a relative of Walck’s. He told Matika he allowed his temper to get the best of him.

Matika sentenced him to serve nine to one day less 24 months in prison and ordered him to render 75 hours of community service, have no contact with the victim and attend and successfully complete an anger management course.

Walck is currently an inmate in the county prison. He was given credit for 295 days already spent in jail on the charge and paroled. However, before he is released he must submit a pre-parole plan approved by the adult probation office.
