Carbon County court

A Carbon County man entered a guilty plea on Monday to a drug dealing charge.

He was one of nine defendants in pending drug-related cases to enter a guilty plea before Judge Joseph J. Matika.

Cameron G. Dickson

, 22, of Jim Thorpe, pleaded to one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, methamphetamine.

He was arrested on Dec. 2, 2018, when Kidder Township police responded to the area of the Hickory Run Tavern along Route 534 in Albrightsville for an unresponsive man in a vehicle. Dickson was found in the vehicle with the meth.

Matika deferred sentencing because Dickson has at least two other pending criminal cases in the county.

Anthony Lee Ritton

, 19, of Palmerton, pleaded to one count of possession of a controlled substance.

He was arrested on Oct. 25, 2018, after Palmerton police served a search warrant on a residence along Lehigh Avenue. Glassine baggies and drugs were found in the home. A charge of endangering the welfare of a child was dropped in a plea deal with the district attorney’s office. Police said Ritton’s 1-year-old daughter was found in the home, near where the illegal drugs were located, when the warrant was served.

Matika placed him on probation for six months and ordered he render 25 hours of community service and get a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow any recommendation for treatment.

James E. Frederick Jr.

, 63, of Summit Hill, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Jan. 21, 2018, by Summit Hill police along White Bear Drive. Police initially responded to a 911 call. In exchange for the plea, the DA’s office dropped a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Matika deferred sentencing.

Brett Henry Scott

, 18, of Weatherly, pleaded to one count of possession of a controlled substance, heroin. He was arrested by Weatherly police on May 14 following a vehicle stop along West Main Street.

Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.

Alfonso J. Sebia Jr.

, 42, of Weatherly, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was arrested on Feb. 23 by Weatherly police after they stopped him for speeding along Plane Street.

Matika placed him on probation for six months and ordered he render 25 hours of community service.

Vincent Anthony Yates

, 36, of Pottsville, pleaded to one count of possession of a controlled substance, heroin. He was arrested by state police at Hazleton at a residence along Hemlock Street in Banks Township. Police responded to a report of a unresponsive man.

He was placed on probation for a year and ordered to get a drug and alcohol evaluation. The term runs concurrent with a probation period he is serving in Luzerne County.

Nevin Sterling Holben

, 23, of New Ringgold, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia and driving while under suspension. He was arrested on Sept. 11, 2018, by Lansford police following a traffic stop along Kline Avenue.

On the drug count Matika placed him on probation for a year and ordered he get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service. The term runs concurrent with a probation period he is serving in Schuylkill County.

On the suspension count he was fined $200 and costs.

Alicia Kachmar

, 29, of Lansford, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on Dec. 16, 2017, by Lansford police at a residence in the Lansford Court area. She was previously placed in the county’s Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition probation program but was revoked from it for violating conditions.

Matika placed her on probation for six months and ordered her to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 25 hours of community service.

Stacey Stafiniak

, 26, of Philadelphia, pleaded to one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arrested on April 10 by Franklin Township police who responded to Mooney’s Motel for a reported domestic incident.

Matika placed her on probation for a year and ordered her to get a drug and alcohol evaluation and render 50 hours of community service.

Each defendant sentenced must also pay court costs of about $1,000 and a $50 per month supervision fee while on parole or probation.
