Carbon County Commissioners on Thursday acted on or discussed the following items:

• Rejected the bid for the Joe Andreuzzi Community Park project in Packer Township on the recommendation of the Carbon County Office of Planning and Development. The project is using 2014 Community Development Block Grant funds.

• Approved the RASA grant application asking the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency for $93,356 for the county’s 2019-2020 victim/witness program.

• Approved the application to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation requesting encumbrance of $50,000 for the Bridge 12 project on North Old Stage Road in Penn Forest Township.

• Approved the use of Mauch Chunk Lake Park on Oct. 7 for the production of a short film. The producer/cinematographer is Oliver Covrett of Bridgewood, New York. Final approval is based on the state Fish and Boat Commission’s approval.

• Received a $2,500 donation from members of the Lehigh Fire Company No. 1 for the Carbon County Animal Shelter.

• Approved the prison board appointments of Bryant Corley of Summit Hill and Beth Solt of Nesquehoning as corrections officers, effective Oct. 1.
