Carbon County commissioners

Carbon County commissioners acted on the following items during their weekly meeting on Thursday:

• Approve a request to apply for funding in the amount of $24,966 through a discretionary grant from the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts to support both the Veterans Treatment Court and Drug Treatment Court.

• Approve the 2018-19 Hazardous Materials Response Fund grant in the amount of $10,472.56 for hazmat supplies, training, educational materials and more.

• Ratify the 2018-19 Juvenile Grant-In-Aid award from the Juvenile Court Judges Commission for salary reimbursements of the juvenile court office in the amount of $69,300 for the term July 1, 2018, through June 30, 3019.

• Approve the termination of agreement with Jill Herschman of Lehigh County for services regarding the clerk of courts.

• Approve change order 2 with Bruce George Paving and Excavating Inc. of Kunkletown for the Emergency Operations Training facility project. The change order, which is due to the large size of the proposed storm draining pipe because the existing water lines need to be relocated deeper, adds $16,425.02 and a decrease of $880 for using boulders that are already on site for riprap apron 1 for a new contract total of $828,304.87.

• Approved the resignation of Alexander Z. Rankovich of Lehighton, 911 operator, effective Feb. 16.
