CARBON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

Carbon County Commissioners, last week, made moves on both the conservation district board and housing authority.

Josiah Behrens of Jim Thorpe was reappointed to a four-year term as a public director on the conservation district; while Commissioners' Chairman Wayne Nothstein was reappointed as the conservation district's commissioner representative for a one-year term.The commissioners also accepting the resignation of Joan D. Chambers of Weatherly from the housing authority. Chambers' resignation is effective Dec. 31.Other businessThe commissioners acted on the following items:• Approved a consulting services agreement with IntegraONE of Allentown to assist the information technology department in the design, consultation and implementation of select complex networking and security issues on an as-needed basis. The term of the agreement is Jan. 1 through Dec. 31 at a rate of $175 per hour, not to exceed 150 hours unless prior approval is obtained.• Approved a juvenile grant-in-aid award notification/invoice under the 2012-2017 agreement with the Juvenile Court Judges Commission for Juvenile Probation Services salary reimbursement in the amount of $69,300 for July 1 to June 30, 2017.• Approved the application to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation requesting a revision to the bridge project on Grist Mill Drive over Quakake Creek in Packer Township. The action increases the encumbrance amount of $170,000 to $340,000. The county said it is because the money is already in the liquid fuels fund.• Adopted the amended ordinance imposing the Carbon County Hotel Room Rental Excise Tax. The tax collected on all hotel rooms remains at 3 percent.Personnel• Employment separations: Matthew G. Derkosh of Jim Thorpe, part-time dispatcher; and Stephanie I. Millard of Jim Thorpe, part-time K-9 officer, effective Nov. 17.• Hire: Danyelle M. Neifert of Fredericktown, aging care manager II, Area Agency on Aging, effective Dec. 12.• Prison board appointments: Spencer P. Andrews of Kunkletown, Walter M. Hess of Weatherly, Nathaniel W. Kotzmoyer of Tamaqua, and Brittany T. Stepp of Palmerton, part-time corrections officers, effective Dec. 5.• Change of status: Joseph J. Dunner of Hazleton, from special deputy sheriff trainee to special deputy sheriff, effective Nov. 21.• Internship: Daisy Cabral of Hazleton, Penn State criminal justice major, adult probation office, from Dec. 5 to March 31, 2017.• Leave of absence: Tina Dittman of Coaldale, animal shelter, from Dec. 22 to March 20, 2017.
