Mahoning Township Police are investigating a crash which took place along Mill Road near Normal Square Monday afternoon.

The one-car crash was reported around 4:30 p.m. A vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole head on, snapping the pole and downing wires.

Standing water from heavy rainstorms was visible on the road near where the vehicle crashed. 

Dispatchers said another vehicle stopped and picked up the driver, but he returned to the scene shortly after. 

Mill Road is closed between Blakeslee Boulevard Drive West (Route 443) and Mahoning Drive.
