Bowmanstown hosts dog show

Bowmanstown Area Residents Connected (BARC) will host its 6th annual community dog show on Saturday at the Solt Pavillion, Bowmanstown Volunteer Fire Company. Registration begins at 11 a.m. and judging begins at 11:30 a.m.

Food and homemade dog biscuits will be available for purchase to benefit B.A.R.C., and, of course, your dog.

With 10 hilarious categories, it is as fun to watch as it is to participate. The categories being judged will be: Best Dog costume, best dog trick, best tail wagging, liveliest dog, fluffiest dog, cutest dog, manliest dog, girliest dog, most expressive “puppy eyes,” and best dog/owner look-alike.

Entry fees for each category will be $5 per category per dog, and all proceeds will support BARC and the community of Bowmanstown.

The Carbon Animal Rescue Team will be there to educate and discuss their organization, a local chapter of the PA State Animal Response Team dedicated to the preparation, planning, response, rescue, and recovery of animals during emergencies in Carbon County.

The Blue Mountain Animal Rescue Society will be hosting a bake sale and silent auction to benefit their mission and share information.

“This is a great opportunity to get the whole family out, and spend fun-filled quality time with your family and pets,” said Marcella Reeser, treasurer of BARC.

“The weather is supposed to be perfect, and it’s always a day filled with laughter and great conversation, something we all need more of!”
