Bombers’ Dougherty chooses Moravian

Palmerton’s Nate Dougherty will be continuing his academic and basketball career at Division 3 Moravian College.

Dougherty was a three-year varisty starter for the Blue Bombers and was a captain his junior and senior years. He earned Second Team Colonial League all-star status as a junior and was named to the First Team this past season.

He averaged 15 points per game as a sophomore, 16.2 ppg as a junior, and 20 ppg this season. He entered the district playoffs with 1,142 career points.

A First Team Times News all-star selection a year ago, Dougherty is also involved in numerous school activities including Aveidum, Student Council, Environmental club, Future Business Leaders of America and National Honor Society.

The son of Jamie and Tom Dougherty, Nate plans on majoring in sports management.
