A Monroe County driver died and another driver was seriously injured in a head-on crash on Monday.
State police at Fern Ridge said the crash occurred at 4:10 p.m. along Route 115, north of Brookmont Drive, in Chestnuthill Township.

Troopers said the crash occurred as a 17-year-old female from Bethlehem was driving a 2001 Ford Explorer northbound when her vehicle crossed over the double-yellow line and collided head-on with a 2005 Lexus RX330 driven by Diamilatou Bah, 53, of Blakeslee. Upon impact the Ford came to rest in the southbound lane facing north while the Lexus came to rest on the northbound rail and partially in the northbound lane of travel.

Bah was pronounced dead at the scene. The teen sustained major injuries to her lower extremities. She was taken by West End ambulance to the Lehigh Valle Hospital - Pocono, East Stroudsburg, troopers said.

The investigation into the crash is continuing, troopers added.

That intersection has seen its fair share of accidents and death, when is the county
going to do something
about it?
115 and Weir Lake Road yes but not this intersection. This hasn't been a problem and the Weir Lake intersection is handled by the state and since it's at the crest of a hill they are reluctant to install a light.
