A Schuylkill County man was seriously injured on Friday morning when he jumped from the back of a garbage truck and then was run over by a wheel of the truck.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said the incident occurred around 9:28 a.m. along Mill Street in Pine Grove.According to troopers, Thomas A. Jones, 40, of New Ringgold, jumped from the back of the garbage truck near the intersection with Fegley Street.He jumped into a snow bank, then slid down a snow pile and beneath one of the truck's wheels while the truck was in motion.Jones was taken to the Hershey Medical Center, by Pine Grove ambulance with what troopers described as serious injuries.The driver of the truck was identified as William R. Moyer, 75, of Pine Grove.
