A motorcyclist from Maryland was seriously injured in a crash along Interstate 81 in Kline Township, Schuylkill County, on Sunday.

State police at Frackville said Thomas D. Goodson, 60, of Dundalk, was operating a 2005 Harley-Davidson Road King southbound about 10:56 a.m. in the left lane when the rear tire blew. Goodson lost control of the bike as it crossed over the east shoulder into the median area. After entering the median the bike flipped end over end, ejecting Goodson and his passenger, Patricia J. Belicastro, 59, of Baltimore, Maryland. Goodson sustained serious injuries and was flown by medical helicopter to the Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest. Belicastro sustained minor injuries, troopers said. Both were wearing helmets, troopers noted.
