A Lehighton student of Carbon Career and Technical Institute was the recipient of a national award in Louisville, Kentucky on June 21 and 22.

Zackary Klotz competed in the annual SkillsUSA Championship where 6,000 students from across the nation showcase their career and technical education. Klotz was awarded a Skill Point certificate for his work in plumbing.The SkillsUSA Championship event is held annually for students in middle school, high school or college or postsecondary programs as part of the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference. The competition is the largest in the world of its kind.
