Tamaqua Police released details of an incident that sent a pick up truck into a house on Brown Street on Wednesday.

Austin Chartier, 22, of Middleport was driving west on Brown Street at 7:44 a.m. when a car pulled out of a parking space to his right. When he tried the brakes on his 1994 Ford F-150, he realized they weren't working and swerved to the left to avoid striking the car. The pick up jumped the curb and struck the front of the house at 268 Brown St.

There were no injures but both the truck and house sustained significant damage.

Hope's Towing of Tamaqua pulled the truck out of the house.
