Tamaqua Area School District's softball field has been damaged after poles fell on it.

Superintendent Ray Kinder informed the school board at its committee meeting on Tuesday that the poles fell on the field, backstop, and dugouts.

Kinder said removal of the debris is expected to occur shortly, and that the districthopes to have more information soon.

He said, "It is our hope that we'll have everything ready for spring sports."
