Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Eckhart of Lehighton and Daytona Beach, Florida, are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary. They were married June 23, 1956, at Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Trachsville by the late Rev. Wahrman and the late Rev. Booth.

Mrs. Eckhart is the former Gloria Green, daughter of the late Austin and Minnie Green of Little Gap. Her husband is the son of the late Alvin and Lauretta Eckhart of Bowmanstown.The Eckharts have five children: Vicky, wife of Paul Kocher; Dino, husband of Mel Eckhart; Lori, wife of Barry Flyte; Holly, wife of Steve Klotz; and Nina, wife of Dennis Haldeman.They have nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.Len and Gloria celebrated their anniversary by taking a two-week cross-country trip to visit friends, as well as Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park in Utah, and to Arizona and New Mexico.A family luncheon was hosted by their children in their honor at P.J. Whelihans in Lehighton.
