Brush fire in Carbon

Firefighters from numerous counties, some as far as Bethlehem are battling a raging forest fire in Kidder Township, Carbon County. More than 165 acres burned. The fire was first discovered about 2 p.m. in a very remote area somewhere between the Francis Walter Dam and Jack Frost Ski Resort. Officials have set up a command post at the Jack Frost Golf maintenance building. Firefighters are being shuttled into the area by all-terrain vehicles from numerous companies. The smoke from the fire can be seen for miles.
