Nestle holds meeting on water plans

Published July 21. 2015 04:00PM

This Wednesday, Nestle Waters North America will be holding a community information session at the Kunkletown Volunteer Fire Company.

Nestle Waters North America has been testing a possible future site for a spring water source in Eldred Township. Nestle bottles water under the Deer Park label.

Chestnut Spring is being considered, and testing and monitoring of the spring has been ongoing for some time.

Nestle is still in the early stages of evaluating the site, according to Deer Park hydrogeologist Eric Andreus.

"We recognize the concerns of the residents and the community, and we can design a system to withdraw that will not impact on our neighbor's wells," Andreus said at an earlier interview. "We have seven well draws in eastern Pennsylvania and we have never impacted a residential well."

The Wednesday meeting will be from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
