The Carbon County Coroner's office released the names of two people killed in an early-morning crash Sunday in Franklin Township.

Christopher Mattera, 23, and Brian McGovern, 25, both of Wilmington, Delaware, were pronounced dead at the scene by Carbon County deputy coroner Robert Miller.

Autopsies on both were scheduled for today.

Police said at 2 a.m. a Jeep Cherokee was going east on Forest Street, just past the entrance of the former Kriss Pines Trout Hatchery.

The driver allegedly failed to negotiate a curve in the roadway and entered the right berm, where it hit several large boulders and several trees before coming to rest on its roof back on the roadway.

A third person was transported to the hospital with critical injuries.
