Lehighton Area School District is accepting applications to fill a high school assistant principal position.

But the person who is chosen for the position may not actually wind up serving in that capacity, Superintendent Jonathan Cleaver said."Depending on the successful candidate, we have the option to realign administration," Cleaver said.High school Assistant Principal Daniel Repsher has held the position since December 2011.Cleaver said the position could be listed on next month's school board meeting agenda for a vote.In January, the board hired Charles Bachert as middle school assistant principal.Bachert replaced Michael DeAngelo, whose resignation was accepted by the board in November.
