Two Carbon men jailed in Northampton drug buy

Two Carbon County men were jailed after they were involved in a drug sale in the Northampton County borough of Bath.

Colonial Regional police identified the two suspects as Michael Olk, 23, of 815 Fredericks Grove Road, Lehighton, and Yessy Rivera, 28, who police said has an unknown Lehighton area address.

Police said about 3:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 22, members of the Colonial department along with members of the Northampton County Drug Task Force, assisted by Nazareth police, conducted a controlled buy using a confidential informant to make a purchase from the two suspects.

Police alleged the two sold four bundles (40 packets) of heroin for $400 to the informant at the Bath A-Plus Sunoco station, located at Main and Walnuts streets.

Olk and Rivera were arrested without incident. Seized was $3,525.90 in cash. A search warrant was served on the vehicle, driven by Olk with Rivera a front seat passenger, and found was an additional 17 bundles and six packets (176 packets of heroin), valued at $1,760, and a small amount of marijuana.

The two were each charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance-heroin, possession with intent to deliver, and delivery. The two were arraigned before a district judge and committed to the county prison in Easton after failing to post 10 percent of $100,000 bail each.
