This year celebrates the 35th straight telethon of the American Cancer Society (Carbon and Tamaqua).
Volunteers present the telethon each year because they believe the American Cancer Society is the very best organization to help eradicate the various diseases collectively known as "cancer."
The organization CancerTelethon.org exists solely to connect with and rally the community to bring together this annual benefit for the ACS mission.
CancerTelethon.org has teamed with Anjoli Productions to present a Special Benefit Concert featuring Doo-Wop legends Larry Chance & the Earls. Some of the Earls' biggest hits include "Remember Then," "Life is But at Dream," "Never," and "I Believe." The Earls are one of the New York City doo-wop success stories.
This special benefit concert will take place on Friday, April 4, at Penn's Peak, 325 Maury Road, Jim Thorpe. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door and can be purchased ahead of time by contacting Bud Wychulis at (570) 573-6285 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
An amount from each ticket will be donated right back to the American Cancer Society.
The 35th Annual American Cancer Society Telethon will air from noon to midnight Saturday, April 5, and Sunday, April 6, on Service Electric (Channel 90) and Blue Ridge Cable (Channel 13).
Last year alone, the Telethon raised over $200,000 to help in the fight against cancer.
