It has been at least 10 years, but I can still fondly remember the soft, tender music that flowed from the bow and fingers of the violin as played by Stanley J. Costello, as he would play for customers and friends for their anniversaries and birthdays in his restaurant in Coaldale.Stanley would host the annual meeting of the Keystone String Band board of directors banquet and would play on our float in parades and sit down concerts.His quiet demeanor hid his great love of cooking and especially his playing his violin. He rarely needed any coaxing for either.The Kesytone String Band has disbanded, but as another member of that great band, I miss Stanley very much. I would hope that Stan is still making someone happy with his talent for violin music.Stanley J. Costello died Feb. 27, 2014 at 95 years of age.Ken ClauserAllentown
