Soup social

Monthly soup socials are being held at Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Lafayette St. The next outreach social will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. April 5. The event is part of Trinity's monthly "Feeding the Hungry" program.The public is welcome to attend and share in the free soup, friendship and God's love. Those attending are reminded to use the lower parking lot entrance into Founder's Hall.Democrats to meetThe Eastern Schuylkill Democrat Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. on March 24. The meeting will be held at the Hang Loose, 300 E. Broad St., Tamaqua.The club meets the fourth Monday of every month, also at the Hang Loose.New members are always welcome.Diabetes supportSt. Luke's University Health Network is sponsoring a Diabetes Support Group. Monthly meetings will be held in the community room at the health network's Miners Hospital Campus in Coaldale.Each month, a different diabetes relevant topic is explored. Topics are based on ways to improve blood sugar control and quality of life. Meetings are generally 45 minutes long and include a question-and-answer period.This month's meeting will be held on March 25. Reservations are not required and there are no fees. The meeting will be held March 26, at 10 a.m., at the Salvation Army, 105 W.
