March 19, 1982 Jerry Snyder's driving layup with seven seconds left to play lifts Palmerton to a 53-52 comeback win over Nazareth in the second round of the Class AA state playoffs. After the Eagles miss a free throw, Snyder grabs the rebound and goes coast-to-coast for the game-winning shot. The Blue Bombers, coached by Pete Delich, had trailed by 14 points (42-28) late in the third quarter before rallying for the victory. Rob Endres scores a game-high 17 points while Snyder finishes with 13. The winners also receive nine points from Randy Engle.
