Woman beats up her cousin over $5 theft
A Lansford woman faces simple assault and other charges after beating up her cousin, who she says stole $5 from her.
Police are still looking for Fallon J. Hill, 20, of 363 W. Patterson St., who also is charged with harassment and disorderly conduct stemming from the Dec. 23 incident.
According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Officer Jason A. Helmer with District Judge Casimir Kosciolek of Lansford, here's what happened:
At 9:38 p.m., Helmer was sent to 37 E. Ridge St. to investigate an assault. He spoke with the victim, Justin Hill, who was bleeding from a cut above his lip and blood on his shirt. Hill told Helmer his cousin, Fallon Hill, had assaulted him, but had left before police arrived.
Justin said he had been sitting in the house with his girlfriend when Fallon arrived and began accusing him of stealing the money. Justin said he didn't take it. Fallon then pushed him to the ground, punched and kicked him in the head and face and threatened to kill him.
Helmer saw red marks on Justin's head and face.
Helmer spoke with Justin's girlfriend, who said she saw the assault, but didn't get involved. A neighbor also saw what happened, and told police Fallon was yelling and cursing as she approached Justin.
Helmer tried to contact Fallon, but was unsuccessful. He left messages with family members, but she did not respond. When Helmer told Fallon's father, Russell Hill, what happened, Russell responded by saying that Justin "got what he deserved."
Fallon did not report the $5 theft to police or make any attempt to get in touch with police.
