Theft of tools and equipment probed

The theft of tools and equipment valued at $5,000 is being investigated by state police at Fern Ridge.

Troopers said a shed on the property of Marina Gabai, 45, of 53 Hunt Trail, Albrightsville, Penn Forest Township, Carbon County, was entered sometime between Jan. 1 and Feb. 20, and the items removed.

Troopers are also investigating a burglary or attempted burglary at 1626 Rocky Mountain Drive North in Chestnuthill Township, Monroe County.

Unknown criminals apparently attempted to enter the home and damaged the front door. That incident occurred sometime between Feb. 3 and Sunday, March 2. The property owner was not identified by troopers.
