A Monroe County teen was killed on Saturday after his pickup truck crashed into a tree head-on.

State police at Lehighton identified the victim as Conrad Joseph Caputo III, 18, of Kunkletown.

Troopers said Caputo was driving his truck about 4:50 p.m. along Hell Hollow Road in Polk Township when he lost control. The truck left the road and collided into a tree head-on. After impact with the tree the truck rolled onto its passenger side and struck a tree with its roof and then rolled upright.

Caputo was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers, a 16-year-old male, seated in the front, sustained serious injuries, and a 15-year-old male, who was in the bed of the truck, received moderate injuries, according to troopers.

The investigation is continuing.
