Bomb squad neutralizes suspicious package in Nesquehoning

The Allentown Bomb Squad was on scene this morning at 8 Sixth Avenue in Nesquehoning where a suspicious package was found.

According to reports from the scanner and the scene, the resident of the home awoke this morning to find tires slashed on two cars and a suspicious package on the porch with the word “tick tock” written on it.

Nesquehoning Police and Carbon County Emergency Management Agency Officials came to the scene shortly after 7 a.m. and called the Allentown Bomb Squad. The bomb squad sent a robot to check the package. Police detonated the package as a safeguard.

No other details are available at this time.

Also responding to the scene were Lansford Police, Hauto Fire Department and Lehighton paramedics.
