Beltzville closed to swimming again

Published June 12. 2014 11:04AM

The Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources closed the beach at Beltzville State Park in Carbon County to swimming for the second time in as many weeks.

Swimming is off limits effective today because of high bacterial counts in water samples from June 10.

As a precaution, the beach will remain closed until acceptable water sample results are received. DCNR has posted signs at the beach.

Other activities at Beltzville State Park, such as picnicking, fishing, boating and hiking, are proceeding as usual.
