Shenandoah cyclist killed in crash
A Schuylkill County motorcyclist was killed in a crash Sunday.
State police at Frackville said Travis McGee, 23, of Shenandoah, was driving a Kawasaki KX250 motorcycle eastbound at 12:30 p.m. on a dirt road off the Burma Road, in Blythe Township, when the front end struck a metal gate that had the road closed.
After hitting the metal gate the bike impacted with a utility pole. Friends riding in front of McGee called 911.
McGee was transported to the Schuylkill Medical Center-S. Jackson St., Pottsville, where he was pronounced dead by deputy coroner Gail Newton.
Troopers said McGee was wearing a helmet, gloves and goggles at the time of the crash.
